Party Like a ROCKSTAR

Hello Lovelies,

Just wanted to share a quick photo from this past weekend. I had the chance to celebrate my lovely mentor's daughter's 10th birthday in grand style. Partying like a ROCKSTAR suits me quite well.

Wish Upon a Brunch

Hello Lovelies,

How have you all been? I know you've missed me. I've been working on a little bit of everything but the biggest thing right now is Wish Upon a Brunch: A Brunch With a Purpose for Wish Upon a Wedding.

If you leave in the Houston area and you happen to be free Sunday, August 5th, I'd love to see you at this event. Here's the details:

As some of you may know I sit on the board of a nonprofit called Wish Upon a Wedding. Wish Upon a Wedding is the world's first nonprofit wish granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples dealing with terminal illnesses and serious life altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation.

On Sunday, August 5th, we will host our Wish Upon a Brunch at Hotel Derek in the Galleria Area. The brunch will begin at 11:00am and last until 2:00pm. Wish Upon a Brunch allows us to raise additional funds associated with granting these wedding wishes to deserving couples.

The Houston Chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding Houston was established in April of 2010 and has made amazing strides to uphold the mission of this heartfelt nonprofit. The first 3 weddings have been granted to some truly deserving couples and the hope is that their stories will encourage and uplift couples dealing with similar situations. Although each wish is completely donated by the services and time of Wish Granters within the wedding industry, there are additional costs that cannot always be handled through donations and it is the responsibility of the nonprofit to make sure these wishes are taken care of to the best of their ability. Wish Upon a Brunch helps raise funds associated with granting wedding wishes to deserving couples dealing with terminal illness and serious life altering circumstances.

A ticket to the Brunch is $75 for adults and $35 for children or you may reserve a table for 10 guests with a donation of $700. Tickets may be purchased at http://wuwhoustonbrunch2012.eventbrite.com/ and you can learn more about this wonderful nonprofit at www.wishuponawedding.org

We Are Young

Hey Lovelies,

As some of you many know, I celebrated my 26th birthday on the 12th of this month. I was lucky enough to spend my birthday supporting my FAV nonprofit, Wish Upon a Wedding, at our 2nd Annual Tacky Wedding Pub Crawl. I had a blast and I truly love my board members because WE ARE YOUNG at heart!

The 2nd Annual Tacky Wedding Pub Crawl benefiting Wish Upon a Wedding

The Pub Crawl allows us to raise additional funds associated with granting wedding wishes to deserving couples like Christian + Alexis and Tiffany + Mark. Check out their amazing love stories and learn more about what Wish Upon a Wedding is all about! I'll post more pics soon.

We Are Young is also one of my FAV songs right now and if you haven't heard it please check it out. I tip my hat to FUN. and Janelle Monae for this amazing song and GLEE rocked it too.

Have a great day, my lovelies! Stay young.

 Blissfully,

~Crystal

The Family Tree

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend.

Just wanted to share some pieces I'm working on for P.S. You're Lovely. This is the Family Tree Necklace and one of my fav! Each necklace is different because it represents the birthstones of each family member or friend in the necklace. The necklace above holds the birthstones for November (Citrine), October (Opal), and March (Aquamarine).

This necklace is for one of my sorority sisters. Her necklace represents our sorority colors.

You can order this necklace is my etsy store at www.etsy.com/shop/psyourelovely

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!

Tidbits and Sushi

Hello Lovelies,

I know you've missed me. It's birthday month and I'm finishing up moving into the new place. I'm loving it so far. Just thought I'd post some pics from a fab night a couple of weeks ago.

Houston Tidbits always has some wonderful event for women to attend and the Popup Tidbit Sale did not disappoint.

Marnie Rocks had some AMAZING pieces and I totally loved these Gratitude Bracelets. What a wonderful concept.

Branding is FOREVER important to me. I love the look and the color against the white wall.

Don't sleep on High Fashion Home because guess what...they carry some SUPER cute clothes as well. Now you can get your amazing furniture and a sexy skirt in one stop. ;)

In love with this top

I really wish I was bold enough to wear the chunky necklace but my neck gets tired, lol.

Signature Cocktails are a must. I tried the Spice Trade and it was a very interesting taste. If cinnamon and champagne don't wake you up, nothing will.

I had no clue that you could get a wireless keyboard for iPads so I had to take a pic.
Temple Street is my new BFF. I think she has some amazing pieces. We had a chance to gab about the woes and delights of being a jewelry designer and she's just as sweet as can be. I might have to do another post on her later. Stay tuned. I can't find her card right now but I'll add her info later I promise.

Simple and BOLD

After shopping, then came sushi at the new KATSUYA by Starck Resturant. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was breathtaking. If you're in Houston please go enjoy Happy Hour and just take in the beauty.

I was kinda feeling myself that day so excuse the foggy pics and embrace the style lol.

Pearls: P.S. You're Lovely - Beaded Rope Necklace

Vintage Handbag from one of mom's trips

Top: Some boutique here in Houston. I think it might have been Langford  Market
Gray Tweed Shorts: Express
Teal Suede Pumps: Rack Room Shoes
Gray Belt: I have no idea
Once again thanks for stopping by. Talk to you soon. My birthday is in 8 days!! P.S.

 Blissfully,

~Crystal

Neutral Love

Hello Lovlies,

I took these pictures last week but they never made it to the blog in the midst of the moving week with mom that just took place. I HATE PACKING. Anywho, I love neutrals and earth tones and there really is no reason why anyone can't rock them. Shades of browns and green....it has to match because that's exactly what Mother Earth looks like! She's not one shade, she's versatile! Lol.

Jacket: Anthropologie Dress: Forever 21
This jacket is made by a company called Cartonnier and is carried exclusively by Anthropologie. I swear I love everything this line has come out with! They no longer have this one but keep your eyes open next time you visit an Anthro.

The dress I picked up on a rather unexciting trip to Vegas last year. My little ray of sunshine was finding a Forever 21 big enough to cause need for a camel pack, a compass, and a sack lunch.

Boots: $9.99 Shoe Store Necklace:  My Eyes Are Green from P.S. You're Lovely

Here's a close up of My Eyes Are Green.
Photo taken by the  AMAZING Obi Grant
Have a wonderful week and stay tune for adventures in decorating once I get into my new place.

 Blissfully,

~Crystal

It's the Style, NOT the Brand

This is the motto that I live by! "It's the style, NOT the brand!" This weekend was my "Big Bro's" Birthday weekend and I promised to try my best and survive. 4 days of partying just is not in me anymore but I did manage to make 1 day for him and 1 day for another friend.

The first party was "Tux & Chucks" at the Archway Gallery. All the guys came in tux or suits with their fav pair of Chuck Taylors and the ladies were show stopping the best way we know how (see pic below lol). I think I did a pretty nice job and I had a blast!

Black Sweater I've had for YEARS, my FAV teal pencil skirt from JCPenny's I believe,  yellow scarf (I love scarfs), and last but not least my pearls: Mini Audrey + Jackie O
Because I had SUCH a blast at "Tux & Chucks" I was not feeling all that festive the next day when it was time for the DAYparty so I decided to pick the lessor of the two evils and attend a DAYparty at my fav spot, Fox Hollow. Good music and I could just chill with good friends.
DAYtime Party Swag. Earrings by Jewels by Anike, Green cardigan that over time has turned more into a top that a  way to stay warm, pearls and gold chain from Forever 21...

Black skinny jeans, and my RIDE OR DIE brown boots lol
Mix it up and have fun with it. Who said you HAVE to follow the rules? Own what you wear! It's about the style, NOT the brand.

 Blissfully,

~Crystal

A Day with Two Stylish Kays

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend or have at least taken Sunday to recover from whatever damage you did over the weekend. Last week I had the pleasure of spending some more time from Keren from Two Stylish Kays on a little shopping spree. Come on, you didn't think two sorority sisters could stay out of trouble when fashion was on the line.

I have to take a minute to thank Keren for introducing me to Couture Blowout and my new addiction! Please don't ask me how the blogger visit from Atlanta found this gem but I humbly bow to my lovely Soror for such a wonderful experience.

Keren's Tracey Resse was under $90. My shirt dress was under $30!
